BEARD TRANSPLANT · FAIR HAIR CLINIC

Beard transplant in Turkey.
Designed for your face.
Not a template.

A beard is not a second hairline.

The cheek line, jawline, moustache, chin and sideburns all grow in different directions and at different angles. A beard transplant has to follow the face and the native facial hair — not a standard shape copied from another patient.

Fair plans the beard first. The graft number comes after.

01 · WHY FACIAL HAIR IS DIFFERENT

A beard transplant is not a scalp transplant moved down 20 cm.

Scalp hair and facial hair share the basic principle of moving follicular units, but the visible design problem is different.

  • beard hairs often emerge at much flatter angles to the skin
  • direction changes across the moustache, cheeks, jawline, chin and sideburns
  • small direction errors can be very visible on the face
  • facial symmetry needs to look natural rather than perfectly mirrored
  • native beard density and hair calibre affect how many grafts are visually needed
  • the donor hair has to blend as naturally as possible with existing facial hair

The face shows every angle.Planning and placement have to respect how facial hair naturally exits the skin.

02 · TREATMENT AREAS

What can a beard transplant address?

Beard transplantation may be considered for different goals, depending on donor supply and medical suitability.

  • patchy cheek growth
  • weak or incomplete jawline
  • thin goatee or chin area
  • moustache gaps
  • sideburn reconstruction
  • asymmetry
  • selected stable scar areas after medical assessment
  • congenitally sparse facial hair

Some patients want subtle gap filling. Others want a more complete beard framework. The plan should reflect the starting point rather than force every face toward the same ‘full beard’ target.

Fill what makes sense. Don’t invent a face that isn’t yours.

03 · ANGLE & DIRECTION

Direction first. Density second.

The most important technical question in facial-hair transplantation is not simply how many grafts can be placed. It is how those hairs will lie once they grow.

Natural beard direction changes by zone. A graft placed too upright can look unnatural even if it grows perfectly.

Fair planning focuses on

  • very flat exit angles where appropriate
  • zone-specific direction
  • smooth changes between moustache, cheeks, jawline and chin
  • integration with existing native beard hair
  • avoiding a planted or ‘brush’ appearance

A graft can survive and still point the wrong way.Growth alone is not the same as a natural result.

04 · DESIGN

The beard line should fit the face.

Fair does not use one beard outline for every patient.

The design is built around:

  • facial proportions
  • jaw shape
  • cheek structure
  • native beard pattern
  • age
  • moustache and chin connection
  • sideburn position
  • how the patient normally shaves or wears facial hair

The patient’s preference matters, but the final design also has to respect donor supply and what can be created naturally.

Natural doesn’t mean perfectly straight.Real beard borders have controlled irregularity and changing density.

05 · GRAFT PLANNING

How many grafts does a beard transplant need?

There is no responsible universal graft number for a beard transplant.

A small scar or moustache gap can require a very different plan from full cheek and jawline reconstruction.

The graft plan depends on:

  • area to be covered
  • existing beard density
  • hair calibre
  • skin-hair contrast
  • desired beard shape
  • donor availability
  • whether the goal is filling, framing or broader reconstruction

The area defines the need. The donor defines the limit.

Online photo assessments can provide a preliminary range. The final safe plan is confirmed in person.

06 · DONOR AREA

The donor still has to last.

For many beard-transplant cases, suitable scalp donor hair may be used. The exact donor source and harvesting strategy must be decided case by case.

Fair does not treat the donor as an unlimited supply simply because the recipient area is the face.

  • donor density and safe reserve
  • hair calibre and texture match
  • previous scalp or beard transplantation
  • future scalp hair-loss needs
  • visible donor pattern after healing

A patient who may later need scalp restoration should not have that future ignored during beard planning.

Your beard plan should not borrow carelessly from your future hairline.

07 · GRAFT SELECTION

Not every graft belongs everywhere.

Follicular units can contain different numbers of hairs. Where appropriate and available, finer single-hair grafts may be prioritised along visible borders or transition areas, while suitable multi-hair grafts can be used deeper inside denser zones.

The exact graft mix depends on what the donor provides and what the facial design requires.

Border = detail. Interior = distribution. The goal is a natural transition, not a wall of identical grafts.

08 · COMPLEX CASES

Patches, scars and previous work need their own plan.

Not every patch in a beard is simply ‘missing density’.

Sparse or irregular facial hair can have different causes, and scar tissue behaves differently from normal untreated skin.

Fair may request additional medical information or specialist review where there is:

  • active or suspected alopecia areata
  • inflammatory or scarring skin disease
  • unexplained sudden patch loss
  • active acne/infection in the treatment area
  • unstable or symptomatic scar tissue
  • a previous facial-hair transplant with poor direction or scarring

First find out why the patch is there.Do not transplant blindly into an active medical problem.

09 · TEAM & RESPONSIBILITY

Who does what at Fair?

Facial-hair work needs clear planning and clear responsibility.

Senior hair-transplant expert

  • in-person consultation
  • facial-hair design
  • recipient strategy
  • planning of angles, direction and density distribution
  • channel-opening work where channel opening is part of the chosen beard protocol

Permanent technical team

  • donor harvesting within the planned strategy
  • graft preparation and sorting
  • implantation according to the recipient plan
  • procedure support

Medical team

  • medical review
  • doctor support
  • anaesthesia support

The face gets its own plan.

10 · PATIENT JOURNEY

Beard transplant in Istanbul. 3 days / 2 nights.

Day 1 — Arrival

Arrival through IST or SAW, private transfer and partner hotel.

Day 2 — Design + treatment

In-person assessment, facial design, donor review, medical checks and the beard-transplant procedure.

Day 3 — Control + aftercare

Morning control / cleaning instructions and aftercare guidance. Return travel is generally planned after 1 PM unless the patient team advises differently.

The exact beard-treatment workflow and procedure duration depend on the treatment area and individual plan.

The trip is simple. The facial design should not be.

11 · EARLY RECOVERY

What does a newly transplanted beard look like?

The recipient area can look red, dotted, swollen or visibly transplanted in the first days. Small crusts form around grafts and the appearance changes as healing progresses.

Transplanted hairs may shed during the early months before later regrowth begins. Exact timing varies between patients.

Important early-care principles

  • follow Fair’s individual washing and cleaning instructions
  • do not scratch, pick or aggressively rub the recipient area
  • avoid shaving or trimming the transplanted zone until Fair clears it
  • use only products approved for the current healing stage
  • contact Fair if healing looks unusual or symptoms are worsening

Facial skin is visible. Follow the aftercare, not internet shortcuts.

12 · SUITABILITY

Not every beard gap should be transplanted.

Fair assesses whether transplantation is appropriate before planning the shape.

  • stable hair-loss / patch pattern
  • adequate donor supply
  • healthy recipient skin
  • realistic density expectations
  • medical suitability
  • no active untreated condition that could compromise the area

In some cases the correct next step is dermatology, medical treatment, additional testing or simply waiting.

A good analysis can end with ‘not yet’.

13 · RESULTS

How to judge a beard-transplant result.

Do not judge only from a front-facing photo with a long beard.

  • Look at the cheek border close-up.
  • Look at the hair exit angle.
  • Look at direction from the side.
  • Look at the moustache/chin connection.
  • Look at symmetry without demanding artificial perfection.
  • Look at donor healing.
  • Look at shorter beard lengths where direction is easier to evaluate.

Long hair can hide direction. Close-ups cannot.

15 · STRAIGHT ANSWERS

Beard transplant FAQ

Where do beard-transplant grafts usually come from?

Suitable scalp donor hair is commonly considered for beard restoration, but the actual donor source and harvesting plan must be assessed individually.

Can I choose any beard shape I want?

Your preference is part of the design, but Fair also considers facial proportions, native growth, donor supply, angle/direction and whether the requested shape can look natural.

How many grafts do I need for a beard transplant?

There is no responsible fixed number. Small gaps, scar filling and broad cheek/jaw reconstruction can require very different graft plans.

Can a beard transplant fill completely bald cheeks?

In some suitable patients broader reconstruction can be planned, but achievable density depends on donor supply, facial area, hair characteristics and the safe treatment plan.

Does a beard transplant look natural?

It can be planned to look natural, but no clinic should guarantee a specific aesthetic result. Direction, angle, design, graft selection and healing all matter.

Will the transplanted beard grow like normal hair?

Transplanted follicles generally retain characteristics of their donor source. Grooming needs can therefore differ from native facial hair.

Can I shave after a beard transplant?

Yes eventually, but not immediately. Follow Fair’s current aftercare instructions for when shaving or trimming may restart.

Can you transplant into a beard scar?

Selected stable scars may be treatable, but scar quality, blood supply, cause and medical history must be assessed first.

Can you fix a previous bad beard transplant?

Some corrective cases may be possible, but direction problems, scarring, donor reserve and existing graft placement need detailed in-person assessment.

Does Fair use DHI for beard transplants?

The exact beard technique is selected according to the case and Fair’s verified protocol.

How long do I need to stay in Istanbul?

Fair’s standard international journey is typically 3 days / 2 nights, with the exact plan confirmed by the patient team.

How do I start?

Send clear photos of the beard from the front, both sides and under the chin, together with donor-area photos and your medical information.

Your beard should look like it grew there. Not like it was drawn there.

Send us clear facial-hair and donor photos. Fair will assess the pattern, donor supply and whether transplantation makes sense before discussing shape or graft numbers.

No template beard. No graft-selling contest.
