DHI HAIR TRANSPLANT · FAIR HAIR CLINIC

DHI hair transplant.
The tool is only part of the result.

DHI is one of the most marketed words in hair transplantation. But the three letters alone do not tell you who planned the treatment, how the donor was handled, which grafts were selected, how the recipient area was designed or how carefully the grafts were placed.

At Fair, fine DHI implantation is part of one coordinated treatment standard — not a more expensive package.

01 · START WITH THE TRUTH

What does DHI actually mean?

DHI is commonly used as a marketing term for graft implantation with an implanter device. It should not be confused with the donor-harvesting stage.

FUE = donor harvesting / excision

Follicular units are individually harvested from the donor area.

DHI = implantation approach

Implanter tools are used to place grafts into the recipient area according to the treatment plan.

That distinction matters. Calling a procedure “DHI” does not automatically tell you how the grafts were extracted, how the hairline was designed or who determined the angles and distribution.

At Fair, DHI is treated as a tool and implantation approach inside a wider hair-transplant strategy — not as a magic method.

The acronym is not the quality. The planning, people, tools and execution behind it are what matter.

02 · THE FAIR DIFFERENCE

“UPGRADE TO PREMIUM DHI”

No DHI upgrade.

Fair does not ask suitable scalp-hair patients to pay more to access DHI.

For suitable scalp cases, DHI is already built into our Combined Sapphire FUE + DHI treatment standard.

That means the treatment strategy is chosen around your hair — not around which technique tier you bought.

You don’t upgrade to DHI at Fair.It is already part of the Fair standard for suitable scalp-hair cases.

03 · ONE COORDINATED PLAN

How Fair combines Sapphire FUE + DHI

“Combined” does not mean every graft is treated with two identical implantation methods. It means both approaches are used within one coordinated treatment plan.

01

FUE donor harvesting

Follicular units are harvested from the donor area with fine, individually selected FUE instruments by Fair’s permanent technical team, following the planned safe donor strategy.

02

Sapphire channel planning and opening

The senior hair-transplant expert plans the recipient strategy and performs Sapphire channel opening in the zones where pre-made channels form part of the design.

03

Fine DHI implantation

Fine implanter tools are used within the planned recipient strategy in selected zones of the same treatment, according to graft characteristics, native hair and the intended distribution.

The exact balance between Sapphire channel work and DHI placement is individual. The important point is that Fair does not make you choose one label before your case has been planned.

One case. One plan. Both tools available from the start.

04 · THE TOOL

The implanter doesn’t design the hairline.

An implanter can be a precise instrument. But it does not decide where your hairline should sit. It does not calculate your donor reserve. It does not decide which direction looks natural around the temples. And it does not replace treatment planning.

The tool can assist controlled graft placement. The result still depends on the strategy around it.

  • hairline and recipient design
  • graft selection
  • angle and direction
  • density distribution
  • existing native hair
  • donor preservation
  • the experience of the people performing each stage

Good tool. Bad plan = still a bad plan.

05 · DETAIL

Fine DHI. Selected around the graft — not the marketing.

Not every graft has the same diameter, hair count or characteristics. Fair selects fine instruments around the grafts and the recipient plan rather than treating one pen size as automatically superior.

Fine implantation work can support controlled placement and reduce unnecessary handling when performed correctly. But “smaller” is not automatically better in every situation.

Instrument choice must remain appropriate for the graft, the tissue and the planned recipient area.

Fine doesn’t mean randomly small. It means appropriately selected for the work being done.

06 · HAIRLINE, TRANSITION & NATIVE HAIR

Detail matters most where people look first.

The value of an implanter is not that it carries a premium label. It is that, in the right hands and in the right zones, it can be integrated into detailed recipient work.

Fair’s planning may use DHI placement in areas where fine control around existing hair, transition zones or specific graft distribution is useful within the overall plan.

The exact zones are decided case by case. We do not publish a rigid map that pretends every patient has the same scalp, native hair or loss pattern.

The pattern changes. The standard doesn’t.

07 · WRONG QUESTION

DHI or Sapphire FUE?

Many clinic websites present DHI and Sapphire FUE as two competing products:

SAPPHIRE PACKAGEPREMIUM DHI PACKAGE

Fair does not structure treatment that way.

For suitable scalp-hair cases, both are part of the same standard. Sapphire recipient-channel work and fine DHI implantation can serve different parts of one treatment strategy.

Not DHI vs Sapphire.Sapphire + DHI, planned as one treatment.

The correct distribution between them is determined during treatment planning — not at checkout.

08 · PEOPLE BEFORE LABELS

Who actually does what?

Technique names can hide an important question: who is responsible for each stage?

Senior hair-transplant expert

  • in-person consultation
  • hairline and recipient planning
  • treatment strategy
  • Sapphire channel opening

Permanent technical team

  • FUE donor harvesting within the planned donor strategy
  • graft preparation and handling
  • DHI / implanter placement within the planned recipient strategy
  • treatment support

Medical team

  • medical review and support
  • doctor presence within the medical structure
  • anaesthesia support

Fair does not build treatment days around unknown freelance teams or temporary daily hires.

The same Fair structure. Not random hands on the day.

09 · DONOR & GRAFTS

DHI doesn’t change your donor biology.

DHI describes how grafts may be implanted. It does not create extra donor hair.

Your donor still has a finite safe capacity. Your graft number still has to be based on donor strength, recipient need and long-term planning.

  • No “unlimited grafts” promise
  • No higher graft package
  • No price per graft
  • No assumption that a bigger number means a better result

Maximum safe graft planning. Not maximum possible extraction.

10 · WHAT DHI DOES NOT GUARANTEE

DHI myths. Let’s keep them out of the sales pitch.

ClaimFair answer
“DHI is painless.”No. Local anaesthesia can still be uncomfortable while it is administered. DHI does not make anaesthesia magically pain-free.
“DHI is scarless.”No. If FUE harvesting is used, small donor scars can occur. Correct planning aims to keep harvesting balanced and discreet; scarless claims should not be made.
“DHI always heals faster.”Healing varies between patients and treatment plans. Fair does not promise a universal faster recovery simply because an implanter is used.
“DHI means no shaving.”Not necessarily. Shaving strategy depends on the case, treatment area and practical requirements of the procedure.
“DHI gives more density.”Density depends on donor supply, recipient area, graft distribution, hair characteristics, planning and healing. No technique name guarantees a density outcome.
“DHI is the best method.”There is no single marketing label that is automatically best for every patient. Fair uses a combined strategy rather than selling one acronym as universally superior.

11 · SUITABILITY

Is DHI right for you?

Fair does not decide suitability from a technique preference alone.

Your assessment considers:

  • pattern and extent of hair loss
  • donor strength and reserve
  • native hair in the recipient area
  • hairline and crown priorities
  • hair calibre and characteristics
  • previous hair transplantation
  • future hair-loss planning
  • medical suitability

For suitable scalp-hair patients, Combined Sapphire FUE + DHI is the Fair standard. Exact distribution and technical planning are confirmed for the individual case.

Send the case first. Choose the plan second.

12 · THE FAIR STANDARD

DHI is included. It is not an upgrade.

Fair’s founding rate is built around one complete treatment standard rather than a cheaper base package with paid technique upgrades.

13 · RESULTS

Judge the work. Not the three letters.

If a clinic says “DHI”, look beyond the label.

  • Look at the hairline close-up.
  • Look at the direction and transition.
  • Look at donor healing.
  • Look at how the density is distributed.
  • Look at whether the result fits the face.

A marketing acronym can be copied in seconds. Detailed work cannot.

Less technique hype. More close-ups.

14 · STRAIGHT ANSWERS

DHI hair transplant FAQ

Is DHI a completely different hair transplant from FUE?

Not in the way it is often marketed. FUE refers to donor harvesting/excision. DHI is commonly used to describe graft implantation with an implanter device. Fair uses both donor FUE harvesting and DHI implantation inside one wider treatment plan.

Does Fair charge extra for DHI?

No. For suitable scalp-hair cases, DHI is part of Fair’s Combined Sapphire FUE + DHI standard and is not a paid technique upgrade.

Does every Fair scalp patient receive DHI?

For suitable scalp-hair patients, Combined Sapphire FUE + DHI is Fair’s standard. The exact technical distribution across recipient zones is individual and confirmed during planning.

Is DHI better than Sapphire FUE?

Fair does not treat them as competing packages. Sapphire channel work and DHI implantation can serve different parts of one coordinated plan.

Does DHI mean I do not need to shave?

Not automatically. Shaving requirements depend on the individual case and treatment plan.

Is DHI scarless?

No hair transplant involving FUE donor harvesting should be marketed as scarless. Small donor scars can occur.

Is DHI painless?

The local-anaesthesia stage can still be uncomfortable. Fair does not use a DHI label to promise a pain-free procedure.

Does DHI guarantee higher density or graft survival?

No. Outcome depends on many factors including donor quality, planning, graft handling, recipient strategy, healing and individual biology.

Who performs DHI implantation at Fair?

Implantation is performed within Fair’s permanent technical team structure according to the treatment plan. Senior expert involvement remains focused on consultation, design, strategy and Sapphire channel opening.

How do I know how many grafts I need?

Start with a free photo assessment. Online estimates remain preliminary; the final safe graft plan is confirmed in person.

The technique should fit the plan. Not the price.

Send us your photos. Fair will review your donor, hair-loss pattern and treatment possibilities before recommending the plan.

No package selector. No paid DHI upgrade. A real case needs a real assessment.
