FEMALE HAIR TRANSPLANT · FAIR HAIR CLINIC

Female hair transplant in Turkey.
First find the cause.
Then plan the hair.

Female hair loss is not simply the male pattern with longer hair.

Some women have a naturally high hairline or temple recession with a strong donor. Others have diffuse thinning that also affects the donor area. Some have traction, scarring or an active medical cause that should be addressed before surgery.

Fair starts by asking the most important question first: is transplantation actually the right treatment for this pattern?

INDIVIDUAL FEMALE ASSESSMENT · DONOR-FIRST PLANNING · MAX. 2 PATIENTS A DAY · ISTANBUL

01 · START WITH THE PATTERN

‘Female hair loss’ is not one diagnosis.

Two women can both say ‘my hair is thinning’ and need completely different next steps.

The visible pattern may include:

  • congenitally high hairline
  • frontal or temporal recession
  • widening central part
  • diffuse thinning across the top
  • traction-related thinning around the hairline
  • stable scar-related hair loss
  • previous transplant areas that need review
  • temporary or active shedding that should not be rushed into surgery

The photo shows the pattern. It doesn’t always show the cause.

02 · SUITABLE PATTERNS

When can a female hair transplant make sense?

Hair transplantation can be appropriate when there is a stable recipient problem and a donor area that can safely supply suitable grafts.

Examples that may be considered after assessment include:

  • naturally high or disproportionate hairline
  • stable frontal / temple recession
  • selected stable traction-related loss
  • selected stable scars
  • localised areas of thinning where donor quality and native-hair stability are sufficient

Suitability is individual. The same visible area can be transplantable in one patient and a poor surgical target in another.

Visible thinning is not enough. The donor has to support the plan.

03 · NOT EVERY CASE SHOULD BE BOOKED

When is surgery the wrong first step?

  • sudden or rapidly increasing shedding
  • recent postpartum hair loss
  • suspected alopecia areata
  • active inflammatory or scarring scalp disease
  • severe diffuse thinning including the donor area
  • untreated medical or nutritional factors requiring evaluation
  • active traction that has not stopped
  • unstable hair loss where the future pattern is unclear

In these cases, Fair may request dermatology review, blood tests or other medical assessment before deciding whether transplantation is appropriate.

Sometimes the Fair answer is: not yet.

04 · DIFFUSE THINNING

The donor area is the deciding question.

Female thinning can be challenging because the donor area may also show miniaturisation or reduced density.

A transplant moves existing follicles. It cannot create an unlimited new donor supply.

Fair evaluates:

  • donor density
  • hair calibre
  • signs of donor miniaturisation
  • distribution of thinning
  • safe harvest pattern
  • future reserve
  • previous surgery

If the donor is diffuse, the plan has to change.A donor that looks long and full can still require close assessment underneath the hairstyle.

05 · FEMALE HAIRLINE LOWERING

High hairline? That is a different conversation.

Some women are not losing hair in the classic sense. They may have been born with a high forehead, high hairline or open temples and have a stable donor area.

In a suitable case, transplantation can be used to reshape or lower the frontal frame without treating the patient as a diffuse hair-loss case.

Planning considers:

  • forehead and facial proportions
  • existing hairline shape
  • temporal points / temple transition
  • future ageing
  • donor reserve
  • how low the hairline can be placed without looking artificial

Lower is not automatically better. The best female hairline is the one that still looks believable years later.

06 · FRONTAL DETAIL

The temples change the whole frame.

Female frontal restoration is not only about drawing a lower centre line.

The transition into the temples, side hair and existing native hair can change the entire facial frame.

  • soft frontal transition
  • appropriate temporal shape
  • controlled irregularity
  • fine graft selection where available
  • direction matched to native hair
  • no heavy wall-like first row

A feminine hairline is not a template.Face, native hair and long-term balance come first.

07 · WORKING AROUND NATIVE HAIR

Diffuse thinning needs restraint.

Implanting into an area that still contains native hair requires a different kind of planning from filling a completely bald recipient zone.

The team must consider:

  • how much native hair remains
  • whether the native hair is stable
  • where grafts can add useful visual coverage
  • recipient spacing around existing follicles
  • the risk of temporary shock loss
  • whether the donor supply justifies the area being treated

A large weak area cannot always be made dense simply by increasing graft count. Sometimes prioritising the frontal frame produces a more responsible result than trying to spread limited grafts everywhere.

Don’t chase every thin centimetre. Prioritise what can be improved safely.

08 · NO-SHAVE / SELECTIVE-SHAVE OPTIONS

Do I have to shave my hair?

For many women, shaving is one of the biggest concerns.

Depending on the treatment area, donor access, hair length and technical plan, Fair may be able to use a selective-shave or hair-preserving approach in suitable cases.

  • recipient area may be left unshaven in selected cases
  • the donor may still require hidden or selective trimming
  • larger treatments may require a different preparation strategy
  • technical access and graft safety come before marketing the word ‘no-shave’

Keep the hair when we can. Don’t compromise the procedure to sell the label.

09 · HAIRLINE & RECIPIENT PLANNING

Design first. Technique second.

Fair’s senior expert leads the in-person consultation, hairline/recipient planning and treatment strategy.

For suitable female scalp-hair cases, the Fair standard can use Combined Sapphire FUE + DHI, with exact distribution adapted to the recipient pattern and existing native hair.

The technique should serve:

  • hairline shape
  • direction
  • native-hair preservation
  • graft distribution
  • donor safety
  • long-term cosmetic priority

The women’s version is not a different package. It is the same Fair quality standard applied to a different biological and aesthetic problem.

10 · GRAFT PLANNING

How many grafts does a woman need?

There is no meaningful ‘female graft number’.

A small temple correction, hairline lowering and diffuse top thinning may all involve completely different areas and donor demands.

The estimate depends on:

  • recipient surface area
  • native-hair density
  • donor density and calibre
  • hairline position
  • future hair-loss risk
  • priority zones
  • whether the goal is framing, filling or broader restoration

The safe plan decides the grafts. Not the gender.

12 · PATIENT JOURNEY

Female hair transplant in Istanbul.
3 days / 2 nights.

01

Day 1 — Arrival

Arrive through IST or SAW, private transfer and partner hotel.

02

Day 2 — Assessment, design + treatment

In-person consultation, medical review, donor assessment, final design and the hair-transplant procedure.

03

Day 3 — Wash, control + aftercare

Exact treatment duration depends on the individual plan.

The trip can be standardised. The female hair-loss plan cannot.

13 · RECOVERY & SHEDDING

The first months can look worse before they look better.

Women can find the early visual phase particularly stressful when longer native hair remains around the treated area.

Temporary shedding can affect transplanted hairs and, in some cases, nearby native hairs. Early density is not the final result.

  • follow Fair’s washing and scalp-care instructions
  • do not aggressively brush or manipulate the recipient area
  • ask Fair before restarting colouring, bleaching, extensions or chemical treatments
  • expect a gradual growth process rather than immediate cosmetic density
  • contact Fair if healing or shedding looks unusual or symptoms are worsening

Early appearance is not final density.

14 · RESULTS

How should female results be shown?

Female before-and-after photography can be misleading when parting, hair length, extensions, fibres, styling or lighting changes.

A different parting can create a different ‘result’. Keep the proof fair.

16 · STRAIGHT ANSWERS

Female hair transplant FAQ

Can women have a hair transplant?

Yes, some women can be good candidates. Suitability depends on the cause and stability of the hair loss, donor quality, recipient pattern, medical factors and realistic treatment goals.

Is female hair loss treated the same as male hair loss?

No. Female patterns can be more diffuse and may involve the donor area, so diagnosis, donor assessment and long-term planning can differ significantly.

Can Fair lower a naturally high female hairline?

In a suitable patient with stable hair and a strong donor, hairline lowering or frontal reshaping may be considered after in-person design and donor assessment.

Can a hair transplant fix diffuse thinning?

Sometimes selected areas can be improved, but diffuse thinning requires careful donor and native-hair assessment. If the donor is also miniaturised or unstable, transplantation may be inappropriate.

Do women need to shave their head?

Not always. Selective-shave or hair-preserving approaches may be possible in suitable cases, but Fair does not promise a completely no-shave procedure before assessment.

Can I have a transplant for postpartum hair loss?

Recent postpartum shedding is often a reason to wait and reassess rather than rush into surgery. Persistent or unusual loss should be medically evaluated.

What if my hair loss is hormonal, thyroid-related or due to low iron?

Hair loss can have medical contributors. Fair does not diagnose these from photos; when the history suggests a medical cause, appropriate clinical evaluation should come first.

Can transplantation damage the native hair that is still there?

Recipient work around native hair requires careful planning, and temporary shock loss can occur. No clinic should promise zero risk to existing hair.

Does Fair use DHI for women?

For suitable female scalp-hair cases, Fair’s standard can use Combined Sapphire FUE + DHI. Exact recipient technique and distribution remain individual.

How many grafts will I need?

The number depends on the area, native-hair density, donor strength, hair calibre and priorities. Online assessment can provide a preliminary range; the final safe plan is confirmed in person.

How long until I see the final result?

Hair-transplant growth and maturation take many months and vary between individuals. Fair follows the result over 12 months and avoids guaranteeing one exact growth timeline for every patient.

Can I colour or style my hair after the transplant?

Yes later, but the timing depends on healing and the product or treatment involved. Follow Fair’s current aftercare instructions before colouring, bleaching, using extensions or applying chemical treatments.

The right female hair transplant starts with knowing when not to transplant.

Send clear photos of your hairline, top/parting, both sides and donor area, together with your hair-loss history and medical information. Fair will first assess whether transplantation makes sense before discussing grafts or dates.

No women’s package. No automatic surgery. No-shave only when suitable.
